There are many ways to generate a successful starter.
Sourdough Starter Kit: SNK Bag; 1.5kg 100% Rye Flour ; 2kg Untreated White Bread Flour ;Baker’s Buddy(Bowl Scraper) & Instructions; Sourdough Bread Recipe . Plus we will provide instore; online;email or phone support as required. You will need to obtain your own jar/container to make and keep your starter in. E.g Glass jar with a lid works well.
We use Simply No Knead 100% Rye flour for the initial starter this can be changed once the starter is stronger to our Untreated Bread Flour or combination of both. Water filtered, boiled or water from your tap left out in the open will work.
Kit includes enough rye flour to get your starter going, you will need to have a bread flour (untreated white bread flour, spelt flour, kamut flour) to continue feeding the starter.
Kit includes a set of instructions and sourdough bread recipe.

I was in your store today and spoke with a gentleman over the counter about making sourdough bread. I made my first ever loaf last weekend using my home made starter and SNK white untreated strong bread flour. The gentleman I spoke with encouraged me to send through some images (please see the attached). Just dropping a note about my success with Sourdough Starter and my sourdough bread after doing your class in April.
I have been trying for 18 months on and off to get my starter up and running with no success. After doing the class I gave it one last try. Yay!! With the help of the class and the others classmates SUCCESS!!!! Attached is a copy of my first batch of sourdough loaves, they are getting better as my starter goes along. I am even making rolls now
