Rye and Kaipseed Crackers
Have you ever wondered what to do with Rye Meal? Apart from kickstarting your sourdough starter, this flour can be used to make some delicious seeded crackers.
INGREDIENTS:
- 115g Kaipseed Mix
- 30g Rye Meal
- 1/2 tsp Salt
- 25g Sunflower Oil
- 100g Boiling Water
METHOD:
- Mix the seeds, salt and rye meal together.
- Add the oil and boiling water to the mixture and stir. Leave to sit for 10 minutes until the flour is soaked up.
- Preheat oven to 175ºC and layer baking paper or silicone baking mats on baking trays.
- Evenly spread the seed mix on the baking trays, keeping it together as much as possible (this allows for larger crackers).
- Bake for 10 minutes, then flip the crackers. They might break apart slightly, so just flip the smaller pieces. Bake for another 8-10 minutes until golden.
- Allow the crackers to cool before breaking apart. Store in an air tight container with some baking paper to keep them crisp.
