Wholemeal & Honey Loaf

Start your year with an easy, wholesome homemade loaf! This no-knead bread is packed with fiber and a hint of honey for natural sweetness. Perfect for sandwiches, toast, or served warm with butter.

Ingredients:

  • 3 cups SNK Wholemeal Flour

  • 1 tsp salt

  • 1 ½ cups warm water

  • 1 tbsp Honey

  • 2 tsp Gold Standard Yeast

  • 1 ½ tsp Natural Bread Improver

Method:

  1. Mix dry ingredients in a large bowl until combined. Add water and honey in and mix till combined. your douhg should be tacky and shaggy but not too wet. 

  2. Using a dough scraper turn dough out to an oiled surface and complete a set of stretch and folds. Return back to bowl and cover with thick teatowel, plate or chopping board for 20 minutes. 
  3. Using a dough scraper turn dough out again to an oiled surface and complete second set of stretch and folds. Return back to bowl and cover with thick teatowel, plate or chopping board for for 30-60 minutes / until dough has dooubled in size. 
  4. Once dough has doubled, turn out onto a floured bench/board and gently using your fingers flatten the dough to a rectangle shape and then the sides inward, then the bottom towards the middle and then roll the dough into a log. Seem facing down. 
  5. Place on a vienna loaf tin and spray lightly with water and leave to double in size. 
  6. Preheat oven to 220°C.

  7. Once doubled spray again with water and Bake for 30 minutes.
  8. Cool before slicing & enjoy!
