Pita Crisps
This is a great recipe to use up any stale pita breads so they dont go to waste.
Start by making our Pita Bread Recipe.
- Using scissors/ knife, slip the point into the edge of the pita bread, then cut around the seam of the pita bread, splitting it into 2 rounds. Peel apart.
- Mix 2-3 Tbsp olive oil, 1 tsp fresh garlic, 1 tsp SNK garlic and herb mix, and 1 Tbsp sesame seeds into a pourable mixture and brush onto the pita rounds. Or whatever flavouring you prefer.
- Pile up all the flavoured pitas and cut them into triangles, or irregular shapes.
- Spread onto a tray and bake in moderately hot oven for 5-10 mins (until crisp and golden). Watch carefully, they burn readily.
- They can be stored in a jar for some time and are delicious served with dips.
