Description

Kamut (Khorasan)is considered to be an ancient relative of modern durum wheats (R. Quinn pers. commun. 1995). Kamut kernels are twice the size of wheat kernels and are characterized by a distinctive hump shape. Kamut will out yield spring wheats when environmental stresses are experienced during the growing season, and yield equal to or lower in more ideal growing seasons. Kamut grains are generally higher in protein when compared to wheat when grown under similar environments. Ideal for people who are sensitive to wheat even though it contains gluten. Kamut is not gluten free. It contains 0% fructose which makes it ideal for people who have fructose malabsorption.

Hi all,

Thank you for your help, my daughter has a fructose and lactose intolerance, I tried your Kumut flour and have found that she can digest it okay. Being of Italian background I have used it to make lasagne sheets, spaghetti and also a very, very old recipe for biscuits that has never been altered the pasta kneaded easily, cooked beautifully and held together perfectly. The biscuits tasted just the same as always and were moist and delicious. I am pleased to purchase more flour from you and will now try it in other cakes, breads and biscuits, I am pleased because it is so easy to work with and my daughter now has the choice to eat food that still tastes like normal food.
